Rugeri Case

Anyone had any experience or own one of these cases. They are either hard or very stiff foam with a cordura outer layer. They look decent and look like they provide better protection than a bag and they cost about the same as a good bag. Just wondering about durability, fit, quality, etc.

Why do I think Sam Sherry had one of these for a minnit? Maybe shoot him a PM or e-mail?

Yes, they offer more protection than a soft bag, but the trade off is weight. And they're definitely NOT a replacement for a flight case, right?

So I think this is more of an option for folks who can drive right up to the front door of the gig, not for those of us who have to walk to the train station, up and down several flights of stairs and a couple (or more) blocks to the gig.

Case

I'm primarily looking something that will protect the bass in the back of my pickup (with camper shell). I already have a good Mooradian case, but the bass must sometimes ride 4 or more hours to gigs and I also have my amp, EB and other gear back there and I want a bit of protection in case anything shifts around.

Those huge unwieldy foam cases would be excellent for use in the back of your pickup. Make sure you tie it down!

I'm not sure about durability, fit, quality, but the design seems questionable. What puzzles me is the inclusion of "back pack" straps in the location that's shown in the second photo. It seems ridiculous. It causes me to question to whole thought processes used to design and create this case.

Perhaps a better idea is figuring out ways to lock down the heavy equipment in the back of you pickup truck using hooks, bungee cords, wood braces / "T" dividers and the like, and then suppling some foam cushion underneath your DB to cushion the ride.

We use one of these cases for my son's bass which he leaves at school. I would describe this as a "roadie" case, offering more rigid protection then a bag against a hit or other equipment beind pushed against the bass. I have heard of people using them as flight cases, but don's know that I would reccommend it. His 3/4 Shen SB150 just fine. I would think if your bass were strapped in this case would work for you given your desctiption.

ive had one for a while. never have used it and the strap broke after 3 weeks. the zipper broke a little later and one of the pockets ripped. Ive had bad experiences with it. i prefer a nice padded case with a wheel
