I'm supposed to be talking with my teacher and ordering a Solano bass. Have any of you ever played a Solano bass? How are they? Whats there to know about them?

I've seen basses with poorly fitted bridges and sound posts. All of which can be fixed, but it would be nice if he got them right the first time. My bass didn't have any of these problems, but some do. I think it depends a lot on how much he rushes himself to meet deadlines.
Here is a pic of mine
I'm assuming you study with Andy Moritz, so I'd be happy to show up for your lesson to let you try mine out. |

He said he would put a carved on one later, but I think the pecanic one complements the fingerboard so well I just went with that. The pecanic one made the bass sound so much better too. |

They're aesthetically pleasing (they do match the FB) and they allow for compensated afterlengths. I'm also considering the non-tailpiece: |

I don't know if you remember me,
I was at the Bradetich camp, my roommate was Anthony if that helps you remember who I am.
Thanks for your help. |

It's Jake from ASODB man!
Joey's bass plays well, very well. That bent end pin that's on it is pretty awesome as well.
Keep it rolling man,
