Rumano is an excellent builder. I'm sure there are several in your area. Have you spoken with R yet?

Here is my bass:

And this is Rumano playing a bass he just finished a couple weeks ago:

I own one and absolutley love it. That being said he does have some quality control issues. I've seen basses with poorly fitted bridges and sound posts. All of which can be fixed, but it would be nice if he got them right the first time. My bass didn't have any of these problems, but some do. I think it depends a lot on how much he rushes himself to meet deadlines.
Here is a pic of mine

I'm assuming you study with Andy Moritz, so I'd be happy to show up for your lesson to let you try mine out.

Is that a Pecanic tailpiece?

Yeah, Solano originally put a carbon fiber tailpiece on because he thought the lighter tailpiece would help break it in. He said he would put a carved on one later, but I think the pecanic one complements the fingerboard so well I just went with that. The pecanic one made the bass sound so much better too.

I have the carved, but my teacher thinks it might be too long. I like it, but I really like the pecanics, too. They're aesthetically pleasing (they do match the FB) and they allow for compensated afterlengths. I'm also considering the non-tailpiece:

Hey Joey,
I don't know if you remember me,
I was at the Bradetich camp, my roommate was Anthony if that helps you remember who I am.
Thanks for your help.

Yeah, that's farther than I really would like to go...A name would be helpful to remember who you are.

Yo Joey!
It's Jake from ASODB man!
Joey's bass plays well, very well. That bent end pin that's on it is pretty awesome as well.

Keep it rolling man,

Hmm, perhaps I'll just let him ship me mine, as opposed to picking it up in person.

Last time I spoke with him, he seemed appalled that I had a 36 waist...he's quite the character.

I know Rumano's been getting basses done these last few months. Anyone have a new Solano they'd like to chime in about? Monte, you haven't said a whole lot about yours recently.

Some of my teacher's students are supposed to be getting some soon. I'll keep you posted.
