| saw/played a metal bass today
I walked into a music store today and there was a metal DB right in front of me as I walked in. I've heard of the Kay steel basses and thought this might be one but couldn't find any markings. Finally i asked the shop keeper about it and he said it was hand built from aircraft aluminum. It was nice and loud and full sounding with equally good highs and lows. I thought it was cool and thought I'd pass the story along. If I end up buying it I'll put up some pics.
