Selmer/Aristocrat Bass Make?

I got my double bass back in 1998 from a local music shop...it had to be ordered from New York. I never put much thought in researching it until recently.

The brand is Selmer/Aristocrat. Has anyone heard of that? I don't know if it is the same Selmer that makes band instruments but have so far come up with nothing when it comes to the double bass. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There's a bunch to read, including this thread, if you Google Search "selmer aristocrat bass". 8-)

Thanks. I've been a bass player for 20 years but am new to the forum. I appreciate it!
