SF Youth Symphony Basses Question

Went to a concert by the San Francisco Youth Orchestra recently at Davies Symphony Hall. About seven of the ten bassists looked to be playing absolutely identical instruments: very new-looking, violin corners, moderate shoulders -- neither really sloping nor really square. The distinctive thing about them was the finish -- very light, but not really a natural pale blonde finish -- much more of a distinctly orange tint.

I'm curious as to what they were. Anyone have any idea? Is there some particular make/model of bass that's popular with Classical players at this level and matches the description I have given? I would assume they would have to be moderately priced, since most of these players are in their teens.

Doesn't say so on the page, but I'm guessing those instruments belong to the orchestra.

A total stab in the dark, but doesn't Barry Green have a hand in the development/import of basses through one of the shops in the East Bay? Could be those.
