I don't know the average price, but AES Fine Instruments has an SB190 listed on its site as being available. I would imagine the price reflects a stellar setup.

Thanks guys. Does it play like butter tin-foot? I was curious if you could tell a large difference between the sb 180 and 190?

Thanks, Mr PC!

footprints, It's a sweet playing bass. I've never played a 180, but rented the similar 150 before I bought the 190. And while the 150 is a nice bass for the money, I think the 190 is well worth the extra price. Very, very nice bass.

I love mine...had the board tweaked a few months ago at Boston Bass Works by Michael Hartery. Really growly punchy pizz bass and very even. Mine's wearing Spiro Mittles, which it likes better than the Velvet Blues. Michael's take on the bass was that it was a huge sounding instrument. He was very impressed.
I got mine from Steve Swan, and at a very sub-3000 price. Michael has one ready to go currently, as does Nick LLoyd. I echo T-FP about it being well-worth the extra bread.

Good luck, and I hope you find what you're looking for!

I hear so much about the Shen Rogeri basses being big for a 3/4. Do they still fit into 3/4 bags and cases?

Yes, the upper bouts of the Shen Rogeris are pretty large. It barely fits into my Mooradian case that I used for two 3/4-sized basses that I previously owned. It's putting a lot of stress on the zipper and it takes a bit of tugging to get the case zipped up. The bass' ribs are a little bit deeper on the Rogeri 280W, but I'm not sure if that's the case for the 190.

The time has finally arrived. I'm going to pick up this bass from Nick Lloyd on Tuesday. My big concern is whether this bass would fit in my car. Anyone know if this bass would fit in a Mercury Sable?

IDK about the Merc Sable, but I had Dave Messina make a custom cover for mine. Fits like a glove, great zippers, pockets, and has backpack straps, which I requested. WELL worth the bread, and he now has the pattern on file, so he can zip one off no problem now.

Hi masterforrest,
7/8 cases fit it well. For instance we put them in 7/8 Bobelock bags and they fit well. They can be shoehorned into a Bobelock 3/4, which will stretch a little with time.
Footprints89: Congrats!
