You are looking at the Loveri BEFORE its restoration which is nearly completed now. When it is done and photographed, it will make the old pictures look bad. Jeff is touching up all the various finish/Varnish work previously done during its earlier repairs as well as the work just completed with some new inlays and edges in the Back. Those ugly gear plates are gone and I have beautiful Brass Gears with Ebony handles on the Scroll with all the purfling visible around the head.
The Back now has a 12mm wide (1/2"?) or so Walnut center strip as well as the stamped Loveri Neck Button plate lined in matching Walnut.
The new pictures will be even more beautiful. I expect the sound to be even better as the Back is now solidly repaired and a lot of excess wood strips and Lining removed from the Ribs which were in neat mint condition to begin with. Some of the older Top repairs were cleaned up and the loose patches either re-glued or replaced with Linen.
The other Bass in your Post is my Cornerless which is going to Jeff the day I pick up the Loveri. Those two Basses will take turns on his bench. It will be at least a year before the Cornerless is done to that Bass as well has a brighter future just around the corner as well.
