Sounds of Eberle-- Recording inside

I'm a proud owner of an Eberle bass (fully carved) that was made in 2004. I bought it from Ideal Music in NYC, and it's turned out to be a pretty good bass once you set it up/play it in.

For 'yalls sake, I made a recording of some excerpts. It's not my best playing-- I didn't warm up, or rehearse these (the Hindemith sped up like crazy, I know!!); I just hooked up my mic and recorded!

Strings: Belcantos
Bow: Finale CF (German) w/white hair
Rosin: Carlsson
Environment: Practice Module (Mic 6 feet away w/low gain)

Here's the link for the recording-- Sorry for the ads on the page!

Thanks! Very nice to hear. I have an Eberle with carved top, back, and laminated sides. What was done on your setup and how much did it cost? Did it make it more responsive?

Hey,

So when bought the instrument, I brought it to my luthier to take a look at it. He planed the fingerboard, put in a new sound post, and installed an adjustable bridge. Also, I have a new endpin, (Ulsa) from the String Emporium, along with Belcanto strings.

In terms of responsiveness, I'll have to credit that to the instrument being played (arco) for 2+ hours a day. It took a long time for her to open up, but it's worth the wait!
