Speyer 202 Carved or Machined??

I bought a Speyer 202 Bass Serial#003268 in the spring of 2007. All I know about this bass is that it is made in Korea and it has a solid top and back. If it has a solid top and back does that mean it is carved or could it still be machined?

I have no specific information about the bass you bought. To answer your question in general, if a bass has a "solid" top and back, then it does not necessarily follow that the top and/or back were hand carved/graduated. It also does not necessarily mean that the top was graduated at all, even if in a rudimentary fashion by a machine.

How does it sound?

It has a really thumpy low end, but it still has lots of clarity even on the E string.
Is there anyone who has had experience with Speyer basses particularly the 202 model? Any help would be appreciated

My apologies for reviving a long dead thread.

Did the original poster ever find any information on these basses? I have a Speyer 404 that has a solid top and back, but can't find any resources on it. It sounds great btw... very thumpy low end, a bit cloudy in the lowest lows, but great clarity in the mids and high end.
