Starting Upright Bass

Hi, I've been playing electric bass for about three years(mostly rock) and I've joined my school jazz band and need to start learning to play the upright if anyone has any tips or suggestions I would really appreciate it.

Welcome to a strange new world. Usually "Read the FAQ" is a snappy answer intended to rebuff newbies, but in this case, the FAQ sections in the double bass forums are really good resources and worth perusing.
