Stradivarius bass in OZ?

Just heard a story about a guy who bought a bass cheap off Ebay, the courier damaged it, it got sent to a top Melbourne luthier, and the buyer was informed that it was a very rare and very valuable instrument. (He apparently isnt a player, bought it as a decoration for his bar at home.)
The story goes that it's been valued at 600K Euro. Any Melbourne people know more about this?

Antonio Stradivari never made a documented bass. Could it be another high-price makers' work? Sure, But i have not heard the story.

600,000 euro, huh? That's the most expensive bass I've ever heard of.

Link or it didn't happen.

The original story ran like this:

"The bass was made by Cremona, and upon arrival, cost 600,000 Euro to repair."

Now of course, the Europeans use a comma to indicate the decimal point.
