Last I heard (in a thread called something like ANY SOUTHERN LUTHIERS?) he was still in recovery from his anyeurism/stroke.

I got a chance to play that bass with the Ladies head scroll...I can't remember who had bought it. That bass sounded unbelievable with orchestral strings. When I picked a few notes pizz and the damn thing sounded like Thomastic Reds....
