Synwin??

Anyone heard of Synwin basses? A friend of mine brought over his son's bass which was left at his house. Its a Synwin, solid top, fairly well made.

There doesn't appear to be very much information on these except a website for a company based out of Singapore?

Huh, just wondering if anyone knows anything about them.

Doesn't sound like anything played next to my old kay, but, it does play easier!

That company's website says that they're Korean imports. Sure don't look like anything special. Hard to know what they mean by a "solid top." If it doesn't sound "like anything" compared to a Kay, well...

They are Korean made basses stamped with Synwin's brand. Definitely solid wood top but not very sure if they are carved. The playability of a bass has a lot to do with how it is set up and how much the luthier knows about bass. I do find the old laminated basses like Kays or my old labelled "Made in Germany" bass more superior in built.
