Got a lot of very helpful replies which were a huge help to me.
Well, on Monday I took my son for a surprise trip and came home with this baby.
Engelhardt 3/4 Maestro EM1 bass with upgraded tuners, bridge, end pin. Pro setup and German bow, strung with D'Addario Helicore string included.
I don't think I've ever seen him quite as excited.
Thanks again for all your help. Happy Holidays to all.

I got my first bass (a Fender) for my 12th birthday, but I think the best part of it was going downtown with my dad to get it. It was a great day for me and I'm sure for your son too. |

When I turned on the computer this morning, I saw this post and thought this young man looked familiar. I had a wonderful time chatting with Cole and his Dad about the ins & outs of the bass fiddle (as my grandfather used to call it) on Monday. If I can assist in helping someone who is new to the bass with the "first purchase", send a message. Regards, Kevin Piekarski |

Very nice, good one, Dad.

Thanks again for spending so much time with us on Monday. Cole really loved the experience!
As evidenced by the photo, the bass made it home without incident.
We talked quite a bit more about getting him started on lessons. I think he's got some potential with a bass.
Best Regards,
Doug Quote:
