I play eletric and we have roundwound, flatwound, and halfwounds, I just figured standup basses had those as well. I have another question, why do they have ebony and flatwounds? On eletric basses ebony protects from fingerboard damage with roundwounds. And also the bass man at the local music store said that there is a "jazz" standup, it's height is the same but width is narrower... is there such a thing? He said he got his used for 'bout 600 and has only one little chip on the back. Sounds nice and in my price range, oh and I'm only 13 so my bidget is limited.
Any suggestions on good standup brands?
Thx for your time!!! |
