Thompson Plywood Standard RM-100

I just purchased a Thompson Plywood RM-100 bass from String Emporium in Arizona. Steve Koscica, the owner, was very nice to deal with. Very attentive.

This is my first upright. I've tried a few though. I have to say that I think I got great value for my dollar. The bass looks, sounds and plays just great.

If anyone is looking for a nice bass at a good price I think you should check them out. I am one happy customer.

I just got my RM-100 last week, and I second the OP, except to add that I have played many other student model basses, and the Thompson kicks all their butts.

Line6, I got the upgraded RM-100. That has the oil varnish and upgraded tuners. I also got the upgraded case which is very nice. On top of all that, I bought one of Steve's brazilwood french bows. The whole package, including shipping to Canada, was exceptionally well priced.

That's great supporting news kreider.

I too have been looking at these basses for awhile and the time has come to buy, but now I know of a few other basses I'm interested in. I'm also interested in the Hybrid RM-200 version, or perhaps an engelhardt ES9 to options!!

As I posted several weeks ago, I bought the hybrid. It is awesome. You won't be disappointed. Steve is great to work with.
