At that time I also bought an unpadded bag for it. I have no idea who made this bag, but it has held up well for all those years with no broken handles or anything. This has the zipper going up the center of the bag instead of around the side. Lately every time a take the bass out of the bag, it is cover with black dust. I am on the verge of becoming famous as the dirtiest bass in Florida. I finally decided to bite the bullet and get a new bag for the bass. I didn't want to spend a lot of money, as this is for my backup bass. I finally decided on the TKL padded bag from Lemur ($144). I was surprised at what a heavy duty bag this is for the money. The design is almost identical to my Mooradian deluxe, but is quite a bit heavier and stiffer than the Mooradian. I still prefer the Mooradian ( It's lighter and easier to roll up) but for half the price, this is a hell of a nice bag for the money. I think it will do a good job of protecting the old Miesel.

In fact, there was quite a bit of it remaining on the bass that I noticed during my New Year's gig even though I got a new bag. Let me go see what kind the new one is.....It's an Ace Kace lightly padded black cordura bag. I like it. It's got some extra padding over the bridge which makes it look cool and the construction is good.

That's what happens when I try to type and think at the same time. He was a real gentleman, and a joy to do business with. Marcus, I have to agree with you on the Meisel,IMHO it is one of the best laminates out there. I don't see many places carrying them anymore. I suspect that the high German wages, and cheap Chinese imports have priced them out of the American market.

Got a blank stare as he didn't know what a lemur was. Ironically when the company was sold the animal in question did become their symbol. Last time I visited Toni and Jerry I got a stuffed one of the ringtailed variety.

My biggest problem occured when I tried to roll it up and stash it backstage. It is impossible to roll this thing up. The best I could do was fold it in half. Oh well, at least it's sturdy and will protect the bass well.
