Traveling

Hi all, I'm going to be on tour in Korea in a month and will be flying with my bass there. I've done this twice before and it was expensive but I got it there. However, I just talked to Northwest Airlines and they told me that there is now a 70 lbs wieght limit for any single piece of luggage going to Korea. Has anyone flown there recently? Is this true? Any thoughts would be much appreciated as well as if anyone knows the overwieght/oversize prices for flying a bass to Korea. Thanks

You should be specific that it is a musical instrument. When I spoke to one of the airlines a few months ago the requirements were slightly different (more favorable) for musical instruments.

I was in Korea a few months ago and didn't fly with my bass, I was there for a wedding but borrowed a bass for a few gigs with some friends. I haven't been able to fly to a few countries with some airlines recently because of the weight of my bass so I've been hiring a bass most places. good luck it is a pain. If you can't fly with a bass their are a few places to rent them in korea, where abouts will you be
