Traveling to Hong Kong (Travel Bass)

In two months I might be traveling to Hong Kong for a three month gig. What is my best bet? Getting a travel bass Chadwick, Czech Ease, etc.(Expensive$$$), Buying a cheap bass in Hong Kong, Converting my korean bass into a removable neck bass for traveling.
I definitely want a 3/4 bass to play and practice during my stay in HK, and really don't want to get a stick.
I would appreciate any of your suggestions!!!!
Kai

Have you seen the Charton B21 or C21? If too expensive, look at the Schnitzer/DeSola "time machine"

I sent Patrick Charton an email, I imagine that at the exchange rate of the euro it is going to be more expensive than a US made removable neck upright. I think my options are to get a used czech ease or get a bass in hong kong

I live in Hong Kong. Well, just until the end of Feb when I move to Shanghai for the rest of the year and maybe longer.
Go to Eddie's house of Strings in Wanchai. (852) 25283350
He has the Thompson Basses at very low prices. Also, Hong Kong Strings has new Shen Willow for sale for about about 25000 HK or less. Too bad, I did not know you before, I just a sold a bass you might of liked. PM me sometime to let me know what you are doing there when you are coming and what kind of playing you do and the level you are at I might be able to helo you get orinentated here.

+1 on Eddie's House of Strings.

Mike's your guy for Bass orientation in town; I'll be glad to help however else I can, even if it's just a round of whisky at the Canny Man pub or tour guide duties.

Cheers,
FF
