Trying to put a date on this bass.

I bought this bass in NC approximately 15 years ago. Sticker inside says "Klengel. Made in Germany expressly for William Lewis and Son ..." There is no apparent date. There are two numbers written on the label as well:
#1833
#38107
The 1833 number seems like it was painted over with white out at some point. Hard to read but pretty sure it says 1833.
I have been searching for some kind of answer from the Wm. Lewis co. and they no longer exist, part of Conn-Selmer. and the people there were unable to help.
Any ideas how I can find out more about this bass.
Thankyou,
Aaron

Darn, I even checked it after posting....

Again: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/search...rchid=10701876

I searched the "Basses" forum for "William Lewis and Son" - we've been over this ground a few times before.

I just tried the link and it brought up the search results but you could paste those words into the Search form yourself if it goes dead.
