UB in Sarasota/Bradenton?

Just a longshot, but my family will be in the Sarasota/Bradenton area in mid Feb for 9 days and my 14 yo son, a fairly serious student, would be interested in trying to practice a few times over his vacation. Anybody from that area have any ideas? I contacted a string shop by email last winter about a rental but they never replied. We'd be happy to rent your beater for a week or so or just drop by somewhere to meet some other TB'ers. Also, my 16 yo son, a vg jazz piano player, would love to sit in at a club if you know of any opportunities where a young'un would be welcome. Post any suggestions of genral interest or pm me. Thanks, Dan

John Miller lives in Bradenton. He's the principal bass of the Florida West Coast Symphony and a fantastic player. Perhaps your son could hook up a lesson or two while you are there, and maybe John knows of a bass he could use. John's on the TB member list.

Great Suggestion!

Thank you for the suggestion...I hadn't thought to tie in to a lesson but that's even better than practice! I will look for him on the members list and send him a pm. Dan

Just got back from some gigs in the Tampa area and I got a great bass from Bruce Wallace at his place in Largo.

He was a pleasure,info @
