Upright needed in NYC

Hello NYC talkbassers,

I'm an out-of-towner coming to perform in NYC from May 28 to 31, and I need an upright with a pickup. Anyone know where I could find one to borrow or rent cheap?

Thanks a bunch!

I guess my first call would be David Gage. I think they rent. Or they can probably point you in the right direction.

I knew Jeff when he lived in Brooklyn. I bought two nice basses from him over the years.

Me too, I got the bass I have from him. Do we know each other? I was 9th St, between 5th and 6th Ave...

True dat.

He's had that Hawkes ever since I've known him, it's a really nice sounding bass, I don't know why it hasn't moved. Although it IS a big string length (at least when I checked it out)....
