Upton shipping bridge?

Hi!

I got word on friday night that my bass arrived at the shipping terminal. I initially had a panic attack, as they were closed all weekend and I thought my bass would be sitting in poor conditions. Somehow I managed to reach an employee who happened to be a bass player, he checked it out for me and said it would be fine...

The only problem is, I didn't get the link to the video Upton has about setting the bridge up when it arrives. I tried calling the shop but they're closed Sunday and Monday. Does anybody have this link hanging around? Or can tell me how I'm supposed to do it? Also, they said to check the bass out before I sign for it... should I set it up and play it a little, or just look it over for any signs of damage?

Overall, I'm just wondering what the process should be for picking this up. Any advice?

Thanks a lot, this site has been a life-saver.

When I got my Upton bass, they had idiot proofed it with removable tape showing where the bridge went, If that's not there, the bridge feet are centered in between the notches on the F-Holes and in line with the fingerboard. Also make sure the sound post did not fall, and that there are no cracks or separated seams before you sign for it.

Thanks so much for the reply. Whats the actually installation process for the bridge? Do I set the feet in position and then pull the bridge up? I really don't know what to expect with the "shipping bridge"... Do I have to loosen the strings at all or will they just slip on?

I really can't find that video at all, does anybody have an idea on where it is?

Thanks a lot,
Alex

I know the basses by last name (your last name is written on lots of the parts as we build an assemble them). What model did you get? we shipped a few Standard Hybrids...maybe you were one of those?

Ah, yeah, one of those standard hybrids was me. Last name is Luquet. Hopefully that was your favorite one, right?

I picked it up this morning, the bass really is beautiful... an absolute joy to play. Didn't take very long to get everything set up and going. It feels great, up and down. And the color came out just the way I was hoping it would. I'm really happy with it! The only concern is a little bit of a buzz I'm getting on the open G string. Is this just because of the new bass, or should I bring the bridge up a little bit? I've never had an adjustable bridge before so I'm not exactly sure what to do about it... any ideas?

Thanks a lot for your help, you guys really did a great job! Also, who writes on the string package?
