Urpight bass help

Hello everyone I purchased a upright for a very cheap price

The only problem I have is when I tune the bass, the action of the upright bass lowers till it touches the fingerboard, in other words as I tune the bass the distance of the strings from the fingerboard if rows closer

When you bring the strings up to tune, is the top of your bass sinking inward around the location of the bridge?

Hi!

Sounds strange - and dangerous. Is the sound post inside the bass and at the right position?

When you look inside the bass, do you see a round post by the f hole between top and back?

Besides a missing sound-post or sinking top, the problem could also be at the neck joint.

This sounds serious--potentially catastrophic--if it's not just a missing sound-post.

Okay well the I did some minor repairs

The neck was pretty wobbling
Glue it with some very strong glue
So as I tune it does not move any more
I thought I fixed the problem
Turns out its something else

I'm not to sure what it is but I want it fixed

Yes it seems to me that it sinks in which is causing the strings to touch the fingerboard as I tune it

Hi.

Congrats on the NBSOD.

Check the sound post first as everyone has suggested.

I'm also assuming steel strings?
Switch to weedwhackers for less tension.

Pics?

Regards

Yup, I'd bet you got no sound post in there.

Please don't use "strong glue" on a bass. Use Hide glue, please.
