+1 for the CR-V if you like Hondas. I have a 2001, and the thing is a tough little tank. It fits my DB, stands, gear bag & SWR WM12 in it with no problem. And they're definitely safe. I got into an accident too, last summer. Somebody turned left in front of me & I t-boned him. His insurance had to dish out $4k to fix the front-end of my car, and none of the instruments & equipment was damaged, and neither me or the guitarist riding with me got a scratch. Fuel efficient & good for camping too. Damn fine cars.

Chrysler PT Cruiser! The seats fold forward or totally come out. There is a lot of cargo room in that thing. I have hauled everything from PA gear/amps and electric basses to a full sized washing machine. I bought my 07 Cruiser as a program vehicle with about 13K miles and paid 5 grand less than a brand new one.

I'm not a DB player, so I'm just crashint the party here. Just wanted to comment that those Scions look like they are pretty roomy inside. Very square and tall.

HHR > pt cruiser!! haha I'm joking, I drove a pt cruiser and really liked it and they have really nice sound systems, but I just liked the HHR better for personal reasons, plus it is about 6in. longer. Def good choices for any bassist.

Yes, it is covered. I have a good case and I try to let my bass rest in the case for awhile before opening. If you think about it, doesn't the air conditioning in a car create potential problems as well, i.e. very dry air?

this is so true... I should probably invest in an air tight climate controled flight case and easy my mind haha

I think i may just be thinkin too much into it.

VW GTI. Fits the bass with the scroll coming between the front seats. Can also carry an amp and cabinet and slab if necessary.
