Lightbulb "Voit & Geiger" Wilfer Bass

I have a 1962 Voit & Geiger bass made by Wenzl B. Wilfer. Does anyone have any info on this type of bass? It's a fully carved bass but with narrow ribs (only 5 1/2 inches, including seams) and has a remarkable sound. I am hoping to sell it soon and am trying to figure out an asking price. I've had a local string expert appraise it but then he visited the Wilfer shop in Germany last summer and was told that only 6-10 of these were made by Wenzl back in the early 60's (custom order by a shop on the "East coast") so I'm wondering if it's worth more now. It's in good condition (the previous owner was a weekend jazz club player who wasn't as fastidious as me). I played it in my university orchestra many years ago but have played it little since then and am hoping to sell it to someone who will get more use out of it. Thanks!

Bill Merchant had one of these in his Manhattan shop a couple of years ago. I don't know if it was built by W Wilfer. Maybe he can give you some info.

Do a search

Someone had a V&G 'slimline' on here not long ago. I have one too and they are both from the 1930's so I don't know about your bass' value but I think he got over $8000 for his.

I only paid $800 for mine so now I have a better appreciation for it. If your's is anything like mine it's VERY open and loose.
