What/how big is an e-size bass?

From Bass Player interview with Barry Bales: "In the studio Barry most often relies on his Azola and his “workhorse” Meisel, a e-size plywood instrument of uncertain vintage".

What's e-size? 3/4?

Maybe they were referring to the neck. Isn't the E often found where the fingerboard leaves the neck?

Seems to me like the D neck is most common, but e flat is common too. I find a lot of basses to be kind of halfway. An E neck would be a little odd, I think...

Oh, and I have no idea what an "e-size" bass might be. I think someone's confused.

In Bass Player a few months ago they interviewed Reid Anderson from the Bad Plus and they listed his bass as an 'e-size roundback Juzek'.

Unfortunately I've no idea what it is either though.
