Oh yeah, you'll look great driving down Ventura in that!

BTW...thanks for the heads up on the Loctite. You're right, it's been around for as least as long as us, it's just one of those things you never think of till you need it!

To set the record straight, it's my 5/4 Dearborn gamba which I swapped for a steam powered Makkinese battlehorn with an Amish farmer. The buggy was part of the deal. The C extension was lost going under a low bridge. The photo was taken just down the road from Arnold's studio as the bass drops in for its morning soundpost-set and stringchange.

I built something very similar to this from white pine for my DB, which is a pretty heavy beast. For situations when you need to roll a DB around a pasture or field at an outdoor festival it is a good idea to have larger diameter wheels like this and two of them. I looked at that KC strings buggie and that looks pretty interesting too. Still, a Gaines wheel is pretty compact and convenient if you are rolling on sidewalks or pavement.

For that I use a lightweight folding hand truck that I added padding to. My bass is so large that the truck helps me get a handle on it.

I ordered one of Jerry Fretwell carts from www.fretwellbass.com. I custom ordered mine so I could carry my bass in its case. I just returned from a four day bluegrass festival, where it worked like a charm. I rolled across grass, pavement, uphill, downhill. No problems. It's a well made product.
