That's not a problem either as long as you don't knock it over...or your kids or dog or cat.

I really don't think these things are as delicate as all that. What you have to avoid is stuff that I do like putting it in the Van on it's side over the wheel of a kid stroller and let it bounce around all the way home from a gig.

That will cost you $4000.

Huh, I've always put it bridge out. I guess bridge in makes more sense.

How about the end pin - I've always put the end pin in, but recently have started leaving it out. It's only extended about 5-6 inches. Am I just asking for trouble?

Nice you got a corner in your room where you have a bunch of toys, and then you have an extra corner designed for your bass! I'll know better next time I have to move! ;-)

A lot of people do that... but if you look at a double bass from the side, it's easy to see how the neck angle works a lot better the other way.

Yes, well, occasionally I put mine bridge out,... but that is for pure pleasure!

That's the smaller unfinished side of our basement. It was pretty awful. I finished off one side and made a shelf. I cleaned out all the junk and made room for my music things. The space is a actually a lot smaller that the photo would have you believe. It's on the same side of the basement as the sump pump, furnace and dehumidifier. But, it's my space . It's about 70 degrees down there and the humidity is about 50%. If I turn off the dehumidifier, that percentage goes way up. One good thing, the basement is dry. I don't know why I just told you all that...
