Where to rent a bass for a gig in San Diego?

Does anyone know where I might be able to rent a bass for a weekend in San Diego? I'm flying in from New York and I'd need it for the weekend of February 18-20 for a gig.

Any info would be much appreciated!

-Steve

Lemur Music is an obvious choice. One of the few bass specialist shops anywhere in SoCal, Lemur is just a short drive north of San Diego proper. www.lemurmusic.com

See if they'll rent you the huge 7/8 Pollman. Yours for $25,000. They said the Air Force put it on consignment, because "it was too loud." I believe it, too. Playing on that thing has spoiled me for life.

Contact Dave Millard...he might have a bass or 2 hanging around his shop...he's a San Diego institution, that guy. A true SoCal hippie, and one of the nicest guys on the planet.

Thanks for the info guys!

Matty, it's a private event and unfortunately we can't get anyone else in. But I'll let you know if we get on another show while we're out there!

I have a friend that may lend you one - he's done it in the past to credible sources. Do you need a P, J or TBird?

If you can't find something that will work, send me a pm. I've got an extra bass you can borrow, a westone thunder II. Kinda heavy, but plays well.

That is very kind of you. But since the question was posted on the double bass side, it's likely the poster is looking for one of those.

Thanks for the offers. The band manager found a Kay at SIR where we're renting most of our equipment, so looks like that's that.
