Where to sell a quality double bass in Australia?

Can anyone recommend any good websites to advertise a professional (ie $10,000 +) quality double bass in Australia? Except for a couple of stores I havent been able to find any definitive type site except for international ones. Any recommendations much appreciated!

I guess it has a lot to do with where you live in AU. If you live in a relatively small town like me (only three or four local UB players) it might take a while. I have recently put a lower end UB in the local music shop where it seems to have gathered the most attention, more than any advertising has done. I have found Gumtree to be useless. Ebay is good to get out there world wide. This site would be great for something this high end and there is a reasonable amount of us Aussies here. (I think we all expect some travel to find a great bass).

I would be very interested but have financial obligations for a while, then a high end bass is next on the budget. Don’t wait for me if in a hurry, but I intend to be in the marketplace, and here and ebay is where I look regularly.

Cheers

For starters, contact Ken Poggioli in the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (QSO), Brisbane. He teaches a lot. Also ask the Queensland Conservatorium (Brisbane) to put up your ad on their student noticeboard.

What sort of bass and in what condition?
