Despite all the scathing reviews and advice (which I really thank y'all for!) I pulled the trigger and bought this Robelli 200 (on right). I had it in my head it was going to be really bad and once I'd seen it I'd pass on it. Well to my surprise when it got here it was GREAT! He had it so well set up with new Obligato's and a fresh fingerboard plaining and new adjustable bridge and ebony tailpiece that it played with ease and sounded incredible, full and even all over. It's about 10yrs old and despite a couple of insignificate scratches is in perfect condition. It's had no breaks, repairs or seam issues. I just couldn't stop playing it and as much as I hate to say it, it plays and sounds better than my new Shen SB88. Pizz or bowed its great. The Obligatos sound so warm and smooth and feel so soft. To make the deal even sweeter he thru in another set of Obligato's (approx 3yrs old), a Fishman BP-100 pickup and preamp (which, again, despite the reviews sounds great!), an Engles stand, gig bag and a new Digital Referance 2500 wireless unit and for only.... you ready? .... $500!!! No way I could pass it up! The extras alone would cost that much and the bass is just awesome, a real diamond in the rough for sure. Ok, enough typing, I'm going to play!
