Your opinion on this bass please.

My luthier is sick, so since i was really in need of a soundpost adjustment i took my bass to other luthier, and he told me that my bass was a carved german factory bass (which i already "knew") and that he thought it was a Hofner or something like that from maybe the 60's.
I saw only 2 or 3 hofners but they sure didnt lok nothing like my bass, any sugestions out there? the varnish is not original, it was painted dark, i know the original varnish was a kind of redish one but unfortunately the guy who repaired a crack before i got the bass, decided to give the bass a darker finish
Another luthier has told me that it looks bohemian from the 20's/40's... although i know names and dates are not important, and i really like the sound of the bass, i would love to hear your opinions, so all opinions are welcome, thanks in advance.

Nuno

i don´t think so. the hat pegs and the scroll are not typical for a 60s höfner

Bohemian Bass?

The upper and lower bouts are pretty assymetric for a factory bass. It looks more like a small shop or individually made instrument to me.

Stephan, the owner of Velvet told me the same, that in his opinion is a bass made by a small shop or individual guy(although in this case not a top luthier anyway...) i like the sound of the bass but im really curious about the age, it doesnt look 60's at all to me, but this luthier really confused me.

I wonder...

Did you find out anything about the bass?
(I play Höfner but can't recognize any of the details or parts on your bass.)
