Any EUB sightings/photos/reports from NAMM?

Like the title says...

I hung out with Dino at the BSX booth for a while, and even ended up doing a few demos. I loved the Allegro, and was especially impressed with its arco sound. Much nicer than my BSX stick for that. They had an iAmp combo with the 500 head and a Wizzy in it, which was great for EUB. The new little iAmp300 and the Wizzy 10 sounded awesome, and would make a killer EUB rig I think. EA is doing a backpack rig with those pieces that definitely got my full attention.

Others: Moses had a mostly-carbon EUB, including carbon fingerboard, but no amp handy to play through. There were the Deans, Palatinos, NS instruments of many varieties, and one or two others I'm forgetting. Frankly, I was hoping for a lot more. I wasn't on bass gear watch duty this year though, so the BSX was the only one I played. Hopefully someone else can flesh things out some.

Mark,

If it was, I missed it. I just Googled it and that looks pretty cool, actually. This was my first NAMM though, and I only spent a day and a half at the show. I think I would've noticed it if I walked by, since EUB is my main instrument these days and that's a striking design, but...

I guess this is blatant advertising but, I now build a EUB based around a standard 34" scale bass neck. I am marketing it as a "upright fretless bass" because like any eub it doesn't really sound like a upright/double bass. It is a good substitute for double bass and has excellent swell and sustain. It is extremely easy to play. Plays beautifully thru my Walter Woods. I play the one I built for myself more than my conventional electric bass.

The top and body wood are variable according to the taste of the client. I use a Rothstein passive p-bass circuit coupled with a basslines soapbar split coil pup and GHS compression wound strings.

The body is small and the whole instrument (minus the stand) fits in a rifle case. The stand is a heavy duty unit mfg. by Dynatran.

See my website for a more in depth description and some pics.

The price is reasonable and can be negotiated.

As always comments and criticisms are welcomed.
