Any tripod mounted EUB users with downstairs neighbours? If so...

..Have you found any ways of reducing the amount of vibration transmitted through the tripod legs?

I have an NS Wav and find that the low E string really travels through the legs and the floor/ceiling. I've occasionally stood it on folded cardboard which seems to cut it down but you can obviously only use so much before the height/angle is affected.

Cheers,
Alun

Try using a Gramma isolator pad. It's effective at de-coupling speakers from floors and provides a solid fixed height for the tripod.

I hate my neighbors, believe it or not all my non-musician neighbors make way more noise than I do. I practice whenever I feel like it at full volume, I do the silent EUB thing if my girlfriend is sleeping, then the tripod is no problem.

phone books. when i lived in my last apt i used phone books (orlando, fl) to decouple the subs in our stereo. i have used a phone book under each leg of the tripod with the same effect. it seems best to find old phone books and wrap them in duct tape or something to keep thebooks from shifting or twisting.
