Anyone tried the Warwick Triumph EUB??

http://www.warwickbass.com/basses/triumph.html

I see they are being sold for $2-3k more than the NSDesigns CR series. What did you think?

I played one in a store. Very nice. Beautiful finish on attractive woods, playability was excellent, mag & piezo pickups gave a good range of sounds.
As for the price, I think there are other basses that are better value.

I was totally hot for one of those about a year ago, but it was mostly because of unpractical reasons like "it looks cool" or "maybe I can sound like Eberhard Weber," instead of useful things - I needed an instrument that feels like a double bass and can sound as much like one as possible, and the Warwick Triumph is not the answer for this, in my opinion

Thanks for the replies. Curious if anyone has compared one to the NS CR series basses?

I'm curious too. Who's played both the Triumph and an NS Bass and can share some real experience?

I've played both at different times, but not done an A/B.
Both are very nicely made and sound good.
The Triumph is an update of a clunky '50s design with new pickups & improved hardware.
The NS is an all-new non-derivative design by one of the cleverest industrial designers in the business. If they were the same price, I think I'd still go for the NS.
