Azola Bugbass Upper Bout problem

Last night during a hurried setup in a crowded restaurant I tightened the set screw for the upper bout on my Bugbass 1 and split the body wood a bit around the set screw/upper bout shaft area.

I'm planning to try to get some glue into the split area and then clamp it for a day to see if this helps. I also shot Jill Azola an email to see if Steve has any ideas. I'm guessing this is not an uncommon problem.

Anybody here have any thoughts/suggestions?

That happened to me when I had a Bugbass and even though I had it professionally glued, it would re-open and re-split after a while. It was an ongoing problem the whole time I had the bass. Unfortunately, I don't know of any solutions beyond that.
