Bowing a Kydd Carry-on

So Ive been screwing around with this thing and the Bridge and Neck arc are not very conducive to bowing. the strings are too close to each other in height, you have to be really careful when bowing to not hit the other strings. I spoke with the guy at Kydd who makes them and he recommended that I file down the E and G string slots on the bridge to change the Arc slightly. I looked into that but it would appear that it would compromise the strength of the bridge if I did that.
I am considering hand carving a new bridge top to get the arc I want.. any one have any EXP customizing a Kydd to acheive the desired Arc?

Thanx

Roger
