- - Combo Amp

I'm in the market for a combo amp. It will primarily be for use with my NS Designs NXT5, but it's inevitable that I'll also use it sometimes for my bass guitar (Ken Smith Burner 5-string). My budget is approximately $800 - $1,000. It'll be used both for gigs and the practice room. I already have a bigger rig, so I'm hoping to acquire something relatively small and light, but that still brings it. Suggestions?

A new Acoustic Image Contra
or a used Acoustic Image Coda
Incredible quality and features in a tiny package.

I am playing my NXT 4 through a Genz Benz shuttle 3T (18 pounds, 175 watts) and sounds great. Don't need a preamp with it, although the FDeck filter warms it up a bit.

+1 for acoustic image. I have used it for my NS NXT 4 and fender precision. Sounds great. And works with full upright if you ever decide to choose that path.
