double ball end strings?

i am just about to start building an EUB, and was planning on a headless design. but is it possible to get double ball end strings in the right scale length?
if i cant get them i can probably build a headless system that works with normal strings, but double ball end are bound to work better
cheers

What is the right scale lenght for you?
There are short scale EUBs, in the range of BGs.
The (regular) 3/4 size bass mensur is about 41.5 inches.
Add to that the distance from bridge to tailpiece and from the top nut to the pegs.
I doubt you'll find upright strings with a double-ball system.
Maybe there's a custom model for a particular EUB on the market, but I don't know.

Hope this helps!
François

im talking 3/4 size, so 41.75" scale, plus probably about 10" after the bridge to connect it to the tuners. if theres no standard manufactured double ball strings maybe i could persuade someone to make me some... but im not really that wealthy. does a headless EUB already exist to anyones knowledge?

The Hemage EUB:

It uses regular DB strings, and a special tailpiece with the tuners there.
The website is currently only available in german.
They're located in Austria.
David Friesen plays that EUB.

And I'm pretty sure that only top players can afford it...
