EUBs...made in America?

Well, if I try something out I'll judge it by how it plays and sounds, not some label...

But, if I see something in a catalog or wherever else, I am guilty of making judgments based on where the instrument is made (if there is nothing else to go on).

Why? Well, let's face it - on average, instruments from Germany are of better quality than those from Korea. In my experience anyway.

On the subject of products made in the U.S.A. vs. 2nd or 3rd world nations...

I wouldn't buy from China, but other countries I would think more positively about. I don't think most people making EUB's are like the large multinationals that take away 5000 jobs from the U.S.A. to send them to countries where they might pay upwards of $10 a day.

Being that most EUB's are kind of a quality product, I can imagine that the local craftsmen are being paid decently for their services. A U.S. company having work done in the Czech Republic is sort of like how Germany has cars made in the U.S.A. Companies send work abroad when the costs of doing so aren't feasable in their homeland. In the case of German cars in the U.S.A. the citizenry here is intelligent enough to do the work and not need expensive special training; basically we're Germany's Czech Republic when it somes to some cars. It boils down to tech items being done by the more modernized societies, as opposed to poor nations specializing in agricultural products for export.
