EUBs Soundclips only

Hi,
I'm a bass guitarist trying to make the switch, struggling through all those megathreads on the various EUBs and I'm getting information overload.
But what I really would like to find in those threads are Soundclips and they seem to be in very short supply.
Wouldn't it be nice to have a thread for clips only?
We could go through a bunch of them back to back to see what the differences are.A clip and a short explanation of what we are listening to.I would have a much easier time deciding one which one to get, that's for sure.
How about it?
Let's hear your basses, please!

Thats an NS CR5M, just a little pizz demonstration. Its an eberhard weber-like tone in this clip.

It would only going to make sense if we could hear the same player playing them!
For the most part in the double bass world, problems are solved by technique and practice and not gear. Most of the (proper scale, bowable) EUBs around sound pretty good played by someone with good double bass technique. So just pick one in your price range and get a teacher!

Thank you Jazzman for that beautiful clip.I've heard a few clips but so often it's either the player or the way it was recorded that makes it hard to tell what the instrument is capable of.
I'm just trying to do my research before I buy an instrument sight unseen.I know in the hands of a great player a lot of these basses will sound good, but I still believe that the instrument itself can give you a leg up in achieving a good sound.
Here's a Stagg clip that I found on youtube that seems to be a very good representation of what the instrument sounds like.

I like it quite a bit actually.

Here's my favorite acoustic bassist playing what I think might be a Azola Bug bass????
It really sounds very much like his tune on his upright.

EUB soundclips only

Thought we should correct you on what Mr. Bromberg is playing in that clip.
It is one of our friend Dino's BSX models : )

There are some Azola players' clips listed on the "Links" page of our website.

Hope it was okay to post this?

Sincerely,
Jill

Hi Maxito,
I actually have and practiced with my Caribean Jazz Project CD many times. I love latin music and after I saw the band Cubanismo one time at the Jan Jose Jazz festival, then I started realizing that my 5 sting Jazz bass can't create the same pocket as a EUB .Your soundclips are wonderful. Thanks for posting!

As Jill said, this is a BSX Allegro Acoustic.

BB does have a very distinctive tone (on EUB or DB), and I suspect a strong element in that is lightweight strings. Check the LaBella website ... he has a signature string set.

Looking forward to hearing more clips.

Andy

There is a lot of this 'information' in other threads / on google but here is a taster

http://www.alterego-instruments.com/sound-video.html
http://www.sandarac.co.uk/dbassvolante.html
http://www.gelbass.com/folder/videos.html

But the player, strings, amplification & acoustics are all BIG factors in the perception of an EUB's 'sound', so unless someone does what Basstasters have done for the BG then Google & getting out there and trying stuff may be your best resource.
