HELP! I NEED A FLIGHT CASE FOR A WARWICK TRIUMPH...

I'm going on tour with my band to Canada for 6 weeks on July 14 and I need to see if I can get hold of a flight case that will take my Warwick Triumph (approx. 164cm tall by 33cm wide by 17cm deep). Anyone got any ideas?! I'm panicking - I'm kicking myself hard for having left this so late - but I'm really not happy about the idea of my Triumph in the hold in only its rockbag!! By the way, I'm in Oxford, UK - but would be able to pick up from London on the way to the airport on Mon 14, I guess..?!
Thanks!

HMMMMM...............

I'd seriously consider buying a ticket for the bass and bringing it with you that way. Cost may be prohibitive so plan B is make a plywood case and use a lot of foam padding to support the neck joint and scroll. I've seen what airlines can do to an eletric bass guitar in a hard case. A Triumph is just a bigger target for them.

Plan C rent something when ou get over to Canada. Good Luck.

I know of custom makers here in the US, so I googled "custom ATA case in the UK"

Found http://www.amptown-cases.co.uk/ -- and although they are in Germany, I'd suggest you check the list at http://www.dmoz.org/Business/Industr...ng_Containers/ for possible candidates, such as http://www.samcases.co.uk/ etc.

But http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...case+in+the+UK can get you possibilities...

Here's a DIY budget alternative:
My EUB has a soft case which is OK most of the time, but I wanted some extra protection for when it shares the back of my car with a PA.
I bought a big sheet of ABS plastic - it comes in various thicknesses and can be easily softened and moulded to shape with a heat gun. I think what I got was 1.5mm, but maybe a bit thicker would be better. Anyway, I just wrapped it tightly around my bass (in the gig bag) and heated it into shape. Then I made some end caps out of the same stuff and pop-riveted it together. Some nylon wrap-around straps completed it. Whole thing weighs about 2kg and is quite tough.

You may also wish to pick up a molded golf club flight case at a local sports store.

I'm sure you've checked this out. I made one out of plywood for my old Framus. It serves the purpose well.
(sorry I'm late)

Flightcase Warehouse in Tamworth should be able to make you one.

Flight Cases

try http://www.trifibre.co.uk i've bought several flight cases from them in the past aswell as from other places, trifibre are a lot faster and the quality of their cases is far superior.
