Jack Pimentel

I was in his shop this week. The components look nice, but he didn't have any finished at that time. Has anyone had experience with these?

TIA,

Jeff Guevin plays on one.
I hope he'll jump in to comment!

hey!

I'm Jeff Guevin, and I didn't see this post till now. Yeah, I've been playing an early Pimentel bass for 10 years or so, and I still love it. I play my DB when I can, but for rock/pop/folk, or just situations where I don't want to chance damaging my main bass, it always comes through.

My bass doesn't look a lot like the ones on the website, but in fact looks almost exactly like the one in Francois' avatar pic (which is NOT Pimentel, just looks like it). I will try to take a few pics and post them soon.

Let me know if you have any specific questions about the Pimentel.

Yes, mine is a Carruthers SUB-1.
Thanks in advance for the followup, Jeff!

Regards,
François

not mine, but very close

Haven't taken pics, but I dug up a photo online, attached here. Mine is a light brown in color, and instead of a tennis ball on the endpin, I use a rubber foot intended for a cane.

The similarity is stunning!
I'm wondering who copied the other...
