If you mean how long it is before you trim it to personal
fit, then I don't think there's one answer. Even George
Vance has had some variation in his pins, and there are
a number of different sources. Best to ask the person you
are planning to buy it from.
If, as another poster implied, you are asking about how
long to trim it to, then thats a very personal thing, its
part and parcel with your stance and hold of the bass.
I have two pins, one I kept trimming down until my teacher
looked at it and declared it was too short (she was right too,
it was causing me problems), then I bought a second pin
my teacher had already cut and that she thought was right
for me.
I would love to see a Laborie style pin designed that was
adjustable, and no the eggpin doesnt count, its TOO heavy.
Anyway, as it is you just need to cut carefully and perhaps
end up with a few different pins before you're happy
