New to EUB

Just wanted to say "hi" . I've been on talkbass for a few years now and I purchased a Palatino EUB. Im only 17 and I have always wanted to learn Upright but have never been able to afford one or get lessons for them anywhere near my home town. A music store in a town Im vacationing in had the palatino for 580 brand new and I pulled the trigger I loved it so much

No doubt by now you've read all the tips on how to upgrade a Palatino. They seem to have OK woodwork but a few issues with strings, bridge, pickup - all things you can improve over time. Main thing is to get it a decent set of strings ASAP.
