new to the EUB world, new EUBand string question
Hello, I have just joined the EUB world for the second time and have just take delivery of one of the Santini EUBs (also known as Artisan and many other names) which I got for a great price and other than being a bit dusty it in real good shape and very nice looking and sturdy feeling instrument.
I ought the bass from an instructor, who bought it from one of his students who had purchased it new, and then gave up on it.
I'm trying to identify the strings that are on it as the previous owner did not know. I am the third owner and the strings are probably the original ones.
The strings have a large brass ball end with no hole in it. Blue windings on the ball end and green, red, black, and gold windings on the peg head end.
I think I would like to swap them out for something that is lower tension and easier to play. I doubt i'll ever use a bow.
Any information someone could provide would be appreciated.
About the peg ends colors, if they are:
They could be D'Addario Preludes.
yes, that is the color of the windings. Thanks
Preludes are inexpensive and nice, but somewhat stiff under the left hand.
they sound good as far as I can tell, but I would like something less "stiff" as you put it.
Corellis are easier to play.
You may want to check the Classifieds for used strings:
