New member of the AZOLA club!

Greetings! As a Talk Bass "lurker" for a while I finally decided to come out of my shell. My intro is on the intro page.

But I do want to say that my problems transporting my DB led me to start looking for an EUB. First day I checked on ebay what is there waiting for me but a "used" LEFTY AZOLA floating top bug II!!! About twice what I wanted to spend, but talk about "needles in a haystack", so I bought it!

This thing is beautiful. I will be giving it a workout tonight in my rehearsal.

Congrats! Please tell us what you think of your new baby after you've played it for a while!

What a GREAT first date!

The bass was listed as being in "unplayed" condition. And it is! It is beautiful.

Here's where I am coming from.

Guitarist (long time)>Electric Bass (3 years)>Stand up (1 year).

So I am still pretty new at the bass. And my standup is a Chinese Cremona converted to lefty with action that is too high (IMHO) and strings that are too thick (again IMHO). The tone on the AZOLA BLOWS IT AWAY. But even on it's own, the AZOLA has a beautiful tone (close your eyes and I think you'd say it sounds like a DB). It is as solid as a rock. I just need to get used to having something so skinny next to me

I just spoke to Jill at AZOLA as well (I agree with everyone about the customer service. I bought this used and she was trewting me like I just spent $3000 with her). She said that maybe 6 AZOLA basses have ever been made left-handed!

I know, I sound like a kid on Christmas morning! I'll shut up now!

right on man, that bass was offered (kind of)through the azolas a while back and i was going to jump on it but the guy re-nigged. you're right about steve and jill, the costomer sirvice that they provide is second to none. by the way, i was watching that auction and you must of waited till the last minute to buy that thing. (smart guy)

Actually, what I do is see if there are no bids and then I contact the seller directly after the auction ends and offer him a price. The way I look at these things is they are "just" basses or guitars (or any other "Stuff"). If I don't get it, something else will come along. I try to never get emotionally attached before I own it.

That said, I am VERY happy I did buy it!!! But I am AMAZED nobody swiped it before me. There are about SIX lefty Azolas out there TOTAL!!!

I had my second date with her today. She treats me sweet!
