new upright player in the house

So I have been playing bass for almost half my life and have decided to take the route of EUB playing. I kind of have to since I'll need to be as comfortable as I am on my electric. Anyways not to get into too much detail, I am here asking for advice and some tips.

I have an EUB in mind: a Stagg EUB for $500; is that a good price? I've played it and looked it all over and plugged it in and it all sounds and looks good.

Can I bow on an EUB?

Well that's really all I have as of right now. I will think of more later but I wanted to get some of my questions answered as soon as possible.

I am very ecstatic on taking a different approach to the bass and see it's role. I believe it would help me.

Ergo is about the same price and is really fine for bowing.
