I am looking for an Electric upright bass.
I would like to have one with a bass guitar scale since I've played bass guitar all my life.
Also I would like to be able to bow it. SO far I know there is the Steinberger bass cello, dean pace and Kydd bass.
I know the bass cello can be bowed, but what about the others?
Again, I'm sure the bass cello is the best of the bunch, but at 3000$ it's a little bit expensive.
Should I just wait for a used one?

There is no way I can try one here

So I will probably have to buy one over the net without trying.

Any thought?

Depends a lot on the budget that you have. What are you looking to spend?

For about $2k, I'd have to recommend the Azola Gypsy. Now, I don't have one -- I have it's big brother the BugBass. If the Gypsy is anything at all like the BugBass, it's a great piece. My 'Bug has great sound and plays well. And the Azolas are top-notch folks to deal with. I'd recommend anything they build in a minute.
